October Community Meeting

New Data Center Planned in the Aurora Area — DataBid Blog

Best Practices: Aurora’s Example on Data Centers

Aurora recently overhauled its approach to data centers in response to public concern. At our October NEST meeting, Alison Lindburg, Aurora’s director of sustainability, and Tracey Vacek, Aurora’s planning and zoning director, will explain how the city responded, from issuing a moratorium to adopting some of the strongest regulations in the state. They’ll walk through new requirements for transparency, public hearings, water and energy studies, noise verification, and limits on cooling methods and resource use. Their experience offers a practical roadmap for communities like Naperville that are evaluating how best to manage data center growth.

When: Monday, October 19th @ 6:30 PM

Where: Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave. Naperville, IL 60540
