As City Council considers future electricity options, NEST volunteers highlighted that just 11% of the electricity generated by our current supplier, IMEA, comes from sources that don’t emit greenhouse gases, compared with the statewide average of 68% clean power.
Unlike ComEd customers, who can select clean energy options, Naperville residents must use IMEA electricity.
The consequence is significant: the average Naperville resident generates more than twice the electricity-related greenhouse gas emissions of the average DuPage County resident.
We can do better.
