Topic: Naperville’s Coal Problem and What We Can Do About It
Around 77% of electricity generated for use in Naperville comes from coal, contributing to climate change and pollution. In this meeting we’ll cover how Naperville can plan a transition to clean energy and the role each of us can play in bringing about that transition. Scott Allen, Environmental Outreach Coordinator for the Citizens Utility Board, will be the keynote speaker. He will share how Illinois is progressing on the transition from coal to clean energy and how Naperville can participate. In addition, NEST leaders will provide background information on our current electricity contract and how residents of Naperville can advocate for decarbonization of our electricity supply.
Naperville can move to clean energy with your help! Demonstrate to our elected officials community support for reducing carbon pollution.
